Tim Toh

Tim Toh is a part of a record label Philpot (Legal Surname of Larry Levan) out of Stuttgart, Germany. Philpot was started in 2000 by Tobi Ettle and Michel Baumann and is home to Vancouver artist The Mole. Alongside The Mole a gang of other producers, with Soul, and Jazz inspired electronic music heavily influenced by old Detroit Techno, and House music legends like Moodymann, Theo Parrish, Omar-S etc.
Tim Toh's "Join The Resistance" Ep title has become a series of records released under that same name, Part III being the most recent.

In the track titled "One", Toh's detroit influences are definitely apparent, in the soulful piano, cool drum patterns that fluctuate in and out of synchronized rhythm, and recording techniques that make you feel like you found the record in your uncle's attic. All of these factors come together and we are left with this tune.
